About this blog.
A devops blog by Willie Wheeler, written alongside the projects and the book that ran through them.
About this blog
This is Willie Wheeler's devops blog. It contains a combination of general devops ruminations and more specific information on various devops related projects I am involved with, including Heliopolis, Zkybase and more.
The projects have their own pages here: Zkybase CMDB and Kite. The full archive is in the field notes.
About me
I am Willie Wheeler. My family and I recently moved from Phoenix, and we love it here, rain and all.
At my day job, I am a Principal Solutions Architect on a team that does devops style automation for a large technology organization. We use Java, Spring and Ruby to develop and integrate build automation, test automation, deployment and release automation, operations automation, governance and management dashboards. The system supports hundreds of applications deployed to thousands of servers in cloud, colo and internal data center environments. It is challenging work: your fellow developers, testers, release engineers and support engineers are right there to let you know when you have made them unhappy. But it is rewarding to walk around and see people using your work to get things done.
Besides this blog, I have a companion blog for my book on the Spring Framework. I have been a Java developer for 15 years and I have been using Spring for eight.
I am always excited to hear from people who have similar interests, so feel free to drop me a note if you feel like chatting about devops, Spring, blogging or whatever.
